Danna "Dan" Chalela is a production designer and freelance illustrator from Miami, Florida, currently based in Savannah, Georgia.

​Danna has always had an interest in creating artwork. As a child, it was rare to catch her without a pencil in her tiny hands. She began to work as a freelance illustrator starting in her early teens, using digital platforms to draw in commission work; This not only fulfilled her creatively, but proved to her that success can not come without risk and discomfort, and she knew she never feared taking a risk if it knew she could create something that could emulate the sheer joy she felt whenever she looks at a beautiful painting, or when she listens to an incredible song, or when she watches a moving theatrical scene unfold before her eyes.

Currently, Danna attends the Savannah College of Art and Design, where she is pursuing a BFA in Production Design with a concentration in Art Direction/Set Design while also minoring in Illustration for Entertainment. Thriving in diverse, fast-paced environments, Danna strives to create artwork that always incorporates the element of performance. Whether designing programs, illustrating musicians, creating a concept work for a scene, or performing live paintings every weekend at the local artisans' market, Danna always aims to constantly explore how theatricality can be translated into visual media, combining the beauty of the fine and performing arts.
